Scale Rulers

When building your dioramas have you ever been confused when it comes to scale, how many inches or what part of an inch equals a foot? Example – 1:24 scale every ½” equals one foot or 1:48 scale every ¼” equals a foot.

Scale Rulers were designed to help, not every size is available if time allows there may be more available in the future.

The centering ruler was designed to help find the center of an object.

Centering Ruler (1” = 1”)
1:48 (¼” = 1’)
1:24 (½” = 1’)
1:16 (¾” = 1’)
1:12 (1” = 1’)

Layout Charts (2 different sizes)

Layout Charts were designed to get an accurate cut of your materials, they were designed in 1:24 scale. If you are using a different scale this will give you an idea on how to make your own to the desired scale you prefer.

With these layout charts you can lay your material on them and get the same cut every time. You can also use them to get either a 30˚, 45˚ or 60˚ angle. The small version will allow you to measure a piece up to 20’ and the large version will go up to 26’ in 1:24 scale.

Layout Chart – 8½” x 11”
Layout Chart – 8½” x 14”

Understanding Scale Replica Vehicle Sizes

There are so many different sizes available for the scale collector that it can be a little daunting, the following was created to help make it more clear. Scales are used to designate the size of scale replica vehicles. They reference the size of the vehicle compared to a life size car, truck, train, motorcycle, airplane, etc. For instance a 1:50 scale vehicle is one 50th the size of the real vehicle. The smaller the second number the closer to real life size, 1:1 scale. A 1:25 scale vehicle is twice as big as a 1:50 scale vehicle of the same item.
