Figuring Siding Least Waste For The Diorama Building. Now that your first piece of siding is dry & attached you need to figure where the rest of that piece best fits. If you used that leftover piece of siding above the piece you just attached you may run out of siding to complete the whole building. You should be able to do the whole building with 3 pieces of siding.
I address this more for future builds than for this build because the 3 pieces of siding should work even if arranged differently, because in future builds there may be only one way to make the siding work without having to buy additional pieces. I have extra pieces on hand because I am always building something but if you are in the middle of a build you hate to run short one piece & have to spend time going back to the store or ordering one more piece to finish your build.
Cut one piece out of it for the bottom of the back, cut the next piece out for the upper piece in the back & then there is a little piece left over & that can be cut for the front left side of the garage door.
The second piece of siding will be the first piece for the bottom of the other side where the walk door is & then the left over piece will be cut for the upper & lower pieces for the front of the building. Make sure when you attach the siding you always work from the bottom up because it has that little lip on the bottom of each piece of siding & you want to be able to slide that lip over the top of the first piece.
